Affordable Housing
The City does not own or operate any affordable rental housing units. The affordable housing properties throughout the City limits have agreements with the County of Los Angeles or the State of California to provide a specific number of units at reduced rents to low- and moderate-income households. Please call each building to ask about availability of units in your income range. Waiting lists are common. This information is provided as a courtesy only and does not guarantee availability of units in your income range.

Maximum Allowable Rent Limits
The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning publishes Maximum Allowable Rent Limits on an annual basis. The County references Area Median Income limits (AMI) established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as California Health and Safety Code Section 50053 (b)(1)(A)(B)(C)(D) and (E). Rent limits vary based on unit size, household size, and AMI. Affordable rental properties reference these sources to establish rental rates.
SCMC 6.02 — Space Rent Adjustments
The City does not administer a Section 8 Housing Program. The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) is responsible for the administration of the Section 8 Housing Program and waitlist.
