Mission Statement

To maintain and preserve the integrity of buildings, properties, and neighborhoods in the community through education and enforcement of State and City municipal code and regulations.


Code Enforcement staff serve as resource experts in enforcement activities in their respective areas, and seek to ensure compliance with State and City municipal codes and regulations. The goal is to improve and preserve the safety, appearance, and quality of life in the City. This is accomplished by community outreach and seeking to obtain voluntary compliance through education, partnerships, and collaborations with other agencies such as the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles County Health and Safety Department, nonprofit organizations and local neighborhood leaders.
