A Parent & Teen Support Program has helped thousands of Santa Clarita families dealing with teen trouble, defiance, gangs, drug abuse and alcohol abuse. Meeting’s are held weekly at Canyon High School and Hart High School (Spanish Speaking).
Alcoholics Anonymous – Santa Clarita Valley Central Office
Local residents of the SCV now have a place to go find the help they need if they or someone close to them has problems with drinking alcohol. Alcoholics Anonymous has opened a resource/call center in the Santa Clarita Valley called the Santa Clarita Valley Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous. The answering service is available 24 hours a day. The phone number is 661-2509922. Local volunteers who all have also recovered are manning the phones to insure that people get the help when they need it. A Light of Hope Support Center
A LIGHT OF HOPE (ALOH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that facilitates free support services and activities for youth, young adults 14-26 years of age and their family members struggling with substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, cutting or any other self destructive action or behavior. ALOH provides weekly support groups for youth and young adults as well as parent groups and weekend activities. These weekend activities are a vital part of ALOH where young people connect with a safe and positive group of the peers with similar backgrounds and experiences. Assistance League Santa Clarita
Our volunteers help children succeed in school by providing new school clothes, shoes, eye exam and eyeglasses to help them focus on learning. We also provide teddy bears for children experiencing a trauma and provide home-cooked meals, gifts and treats to residents in convalescent hospitals and home-bound seniors.
Low cost clothing and housewares are available at our thrift store, Assistance League Resale, in downtown Newhall. We are 100% volunteer run and donations to our resale store and cash donations are tax-deductible.

Bridge To Home
Bridge to Home provides support services – including an emergency winter shelter, case management, housing navigation, and medical clinics – that help individuals and families in the Santa Clarita Valley transition out of homelessness. Bridge to Home is funded through contracts with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, subcontracts with Los Angeles Family Housing, private and public grants, and extensive in-kind donations and participation from the local community.

Community Gardens of Santa Clarita
The Community Gardens of Santa Clarita at Central Park offers 131 garden plots, five universal access garden beds, and three children’s raised garden beds to families, special needs organizations, and community outreach. The Community Garden’s has a vested interest in creating a community facility where individuals can come together to promote the benefits of locally grown, organic food that is environmentally friendly, sustainable, and cost effective and which delivers economic, health and educational benefits to a wide array of valley residents. They provide low cost adult gardening workshops and free of cost children’s gardening workshops to the Santa Clarita Valley community. In fact, community gardeners are regularly donating fresh fruits and vegetables to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry and Helping the Children.
College of the Canyons – Workforce & Economic Advancement
The Division of Workforce and Economic Advancement at College of the Canyons designs and delivers customized workforce solutions including training and upskilling employees, job training programs, and resources for hiring new employees. Our Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides low and no-cost consulting and training services for small business and entrepreneurs, the Employee Training Institute (ETI) provides customized training programs delivered by industry experts and state funding to substantially reduce out of pocket training costs for local employers, and our Center for Applied Technology (CACT) provides Fast Track Job Training programs that retrain job-seekers for employment in Manufacturing and other industries. Circle of Hope Cancer Support Center
Circle of Hope Cancer Support Center is a local nonprofit organization located in Newhall, Ca. Circle of Hope Cancer Support Center provides financial assistance to pay for cancer medical treatments to qualified individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley. All services and programs offered through Circle of Hope are offered free of charge to those living with cancer, cancer survivors, their families and caregivers.
